Susan is the Executive Director for the Calgary Police Youth Foundation a charity focussed on keeping children and youth safe from crime and victimisation. As a new Canadian, Susan and her family moved to Canada in 2005 when her husband retired from his military service in the British Royal Navy. In the UK she spent 26 years in government service, entering the executive field at age 22 years and she left the service as a Senior Executive Officer with the Ministry of Defence specialising in strategic services including business planning and policy making in 2005. On moving to Canada, Susan decided to apply her experience and skill set to join the charitable sector and her first position was as the Chief Operating Officer for the Canadian Cancer Society until 2016 when she accepted the position as President and CEO of the Lung Association, Saskatchewan. One of her favorite sayings is “never doubt one person can change the world, indeed it is the only thing that ever has” and she strongly believes that together kind hearted people can change the future and outcomes for those in need.
